TQ expands portfolio with Renesas processors First module with RZ/G2x CPUs
With the TQMaRZG2x, the technology company TQ is presenting its first embedded module based on the RZ/G2x CPU family from Renesas. These processors are particularly suitable for industrial use in controllers, vending machines, HMIs, access control systems and robotics. The first prototypes will be available in October.
The TQMaRZG2x uses the pin-compatible CPU derivatives RZ/G2N, RZ/G2M and RZ/G2H from Renesas.
The 64-bit multicore architecture provides faster and more efficient processing with Arm® Cortex®-A53 (up to 1.2 GHz) and Arm® Cortex®-A57 (up to 1.5 GHz) CPU cores. The embedded module has both a dual core and two multicores. Various multicore combinations are available to scale from low-end to high-end applications.
Additionally, an LPDDR4 with up to 8 GB supports the performance. The modules are equipped with an eMMC memory with up to 64 GB. For special data security, TQ offers an optional QSPI-NOR Flash with up to 256 MB.
The CPUs offer powerful graphics support with a powerful GPU for 3D applications. Resolutions up to 4K are possible. Multiple displays are able to show separate content. Furthermore, these derivatives offer two MIPI-CSI-2 interfaces for direct connection of camera sensors.
For more flexibility, the module has several interfaces. Thus 1x Gbit Ethernet, 2x USB 3.0 and 1x USB 2.0 enable fast data communication. 2x PCIe interfaces are available for extensions. This allows connecting WiFi modules and other network interfaces to the module.
This design is the first of a new series of TQ products that rely on Renesas technology. They are also part of a long-term software strategy. Renesas guarantees comprehensive software support for 10 years. As a result, users receive long-term available, secure, tested and certified software.
