With the new Energy Manager EM420, TQ-Automation presents the second generation of the powerful and compact energy monitoring system for trade and industry. TQ-Automation is a division of the TQ-Group, one of Germany's leading technology companies. The EM420 is now available from electrical wholesalers and is aimed in particular at companies that want to record, visualize and optimize their energy consumption as part of energy management systems in accordance with ISO 50001.
The EM420 focuses on the simple recording, storage and visualization of energy flows - directly in the Energy Manager. Thanks to numerous interfaces such as REST API, MQTT and CSV export, the system can be seamlessly integrated into existing infrastructures and easily connected to higher-level systems. Communication can be encrypted via TLS to ensure secure data transmission.
The EM420 takes over the main measurement of central consumers and can be flexibly expanded with the modular accessories Sensor Bar (for circuit breakers up to 63 A) and Sensor Unit (for consumers, generators and battery storage with up to 600 A) to include submetering of other consumers and generators. This makes it possible to model complex systems and installations across several levels as well as to display comprehensive energy flows - including a new dashboard and an intuitive Sankey diagram for visualization.
An extended data logger also enables the detailed analysis of historical consumption data directly in the device. The submetering data obtained can be made available to other systems via standardized interfaces. This makes the EM420 ideal for demanding automation and monitoring tasks.
Particularly noteworthy is the EEBUS compatibility, which makes the EM420 fit for future-oriented use cases such as Monitoring of Grid Connection Point (MGCP) and Monitoring of Power Consumption (MPC). In addition, all submetering data can be made available via REST API and MQTT interfaces.
The Energy Manager EM420 already meets the highest security standards and is therefore optimally prepared for the requirements of the Cyber Resiliance Act, which poses challenges for many companies. Thanks to regular OTA (over-the-air) updates, the system can be effortlessly supplied with security updates - without any effort on the part of the user.
The EM420 follows in the tradition of proven energy management and automation solutions that TQ has been developing for over 13 years. With over one million devices in the field, TQ is one of the leading providers of intelligent energy measurement technology in Germany. Development and production take place exclusively in Germany - competitive, scalable and with the highest quality standards. This is made possible by fully automated production. TQ focuses on maximum reliability and is always available as a contact partner.
