- And more
For many electrical and electronic products, product safety is a key requirement for CE marking and for access to national and international markets. It ensures that a product does not pose any hazards to people or the environment during normal operation.
The TQ-PCC supports you throughout the entire process – from requirement analysis through all necessary safety tests to the required test reports.
Product Safety and CE Compliance
In Europe, product safety is an essential prerequisite for CE marking. Under the Low Voltage Directive (LVD), manufacturers must demonstrate that their product does not pose any unacceptable risks to users. The results of the required safety tests are documented in the LVD test report (LVD Report), which serves as the basis for CE conformity assessment.
In Germany, the Low Voltage Directive is implemented, among other things, through the Product Safety Act (ProdSG). It regulates the placing of safe products on the market and obliges manufacturers to demonstrate compliance with the applicable safety requirements.
Our Services in Product Safety
As an accredited test laboratory, we support you in defining the relevant requirements for your product as well as the appropriate scope of testing. We then carry out the tests ourselves and prepare the required test reports and complete documentation for market approval.
To assess product safety, we use various testing methods and examine the following potential hazards:

Our Tests
With our product safety testing, we ensure that your product meets all relevant safety requirements and does not pose any unacceptable risks to users. For you, this means identifying weaknesses at an early stage and creating the best possible conditions for successful approval.
Test reports for international markets
Depending on the target market, different evidence and approval procedures are required. You can obtain the relevant test reports and documentation from TQ-PCC as a complete, one-stop solution. We then support you in selecting the appropriate approval route, all the way through to complete documentation for Europe, North America, and other international markets.

Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU)
The LVD Report confirms for the European market that a product meets the safety requirements of the Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU). TQ-PCC performs all required safety tests and prepares the complete LVD test report as evidence for the CE marking.

IECEE CB Scheme by TÜV SÜD
The CB certificate (Certification Bodies) is based on the international IECEE CB Scheme and enables the mutual recognition of test results in over 50 countries. We prepare the required CB Test Report for you and accompany you until certification by TÜV SÜD.

NRTL approval via TÜV SÜD
For the North American market, the cTÜVus certificate is recognized as NRTL approval. We carry out the necessary safety tests and prepare the test documentation based on the results. The cTÜVus certificate is issued through TÜV SÜD as an NRTL-recognized certification body.
Functional Safety
More and more products contain electrical, electronic, or programmable systems that perform safety-related functions. If one of these functions fails or operates incorrectly, this can endanger people, machines, or the environment. Functional safety ensures that such systems respond reliably even in the event of a fault and that risks are reduced to a minimum.
The TQ-PCC provides support in the following areas:
Final certification is carried out by TÜV SÜD.
These three forms of evidence help confirm that a product meets the applicable requirements for electrical product safety. However, they differ in their respective target markets and approval procedures.
The LVD test report documents compliance with the EU Low Voltage Directive and forms the basis for the CE marking in Europe. The CB certificate is issued under the international IECEE CB Scheme and facilitates the recognition of test results in more than 50 countries. The cTÜVus certificate is a NRTL-recognized approval for the North American market (USA and Canada). TQ-PCC prepares the test documentation for all three routes and supports the process through to successful certification and market approval
The Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU) defines the safety requirements for many electrical equipment placed on the market within the European Union. It ensures that products, when used as intended, do not pose a risk to people, pets, or property, and thus forms an important basis for the CE marking.
The Product Safety Act (ProdSG) is the national legal basis for placing safe products on the German market. It defines the obligations of manufacturers, importers, and distributors and ensures that only products meeting the applicable safety requirements are placed on the market.
Product safety ensures that, when a product is used as intended, it does not pose any unacceptable risks to people or property. To this end, electrical, mechanical, and design-related safety requirements are among those that are tested.
Functional safety goes a step further: it considers safety-related functions within a product and ensures that electrical, electronic, or programmable systems respond reliably even in the event of a fault, in order to prevent hazardous situations.
