Pre-Compliance Testing

Prevention is better than cure. This is especially true for EMC and radio testing. Anyone who fails to consider the relevant requirements early on risks costly delays later on the path to CE conformity. At the TQ-Product-Compliance-Center, we offer extensive pre-compliance testing. We support you in identifying risks early on so that you can avoid expensive redesigns or complications during market launch later.

FAQs on Pre-Compliance Testing

What is pre-compliance testing?

Pre-Compliance Testing refers to a series of preliminary tests, particularly in the area of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and, depending on the product, radio, that are carried out in early development phases. The aim is to identify potential risks and weaknesses at an early stage. Pre-Compliance Testing is intended to implement the necessary adjustments in good time in order to efficiently pass later conformity tests, for example as part of the CE marking, and avoid costly rework.

What is the difference between pre-compliance testing and an official conformity assessment?

Pre Compliance Tests are preliminary tests that provide early insight into the EMC and radio properties of a product during the development process. They do not replace accredited conformity testing, but they reliably show where improvements are needed before the final, costly testing takes place.

When should a pre-compliance test be conducted?

The sooner, the better. Even with the first functional prototypes or pre-production samples, EMC-relevant weaknesses can be identified while design changes are still possible at a reasonable cost.

How long does a pre-compliance test take?

The duration of the Pre Compliance Tests depends on the scope of the test and the product complexity. As a rule, a single test cycle takes between a few days and a week, including evaluation and the results report.

What happens if problems are identified during the pre-compliance test?

We provide you with specific recommendations for optimization. If desired, we will also support you directly in implementing design adjustments before you proceed to the final certification assessment.
