TQ receives Maintenance Organisation Approval

The technology company TQ has been officially certified by the German Federal Aviation Authority (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt - LBA) as an aviation maintenance organization according to EASA Part 145. With the so-called MOA (Maintenance Organisation Approval), TQ is now authorized to carry out all activities within the scope of maintenance of aeronautical products or equipment with final certification.

This ensures both the holistic responsibility for the already existing avionics products, such as radios and transponders, and also provides the basis for the development of a future-oriented product range in the field of "Aircraft Electronics". It also makes TQ currently one of the first E²MS providers to receive the following three certifications:

  • ADOA certification (Alternative Design Organisation Approval) from EASA, for the approval of ETSO articles
  • EASA Part 21G (Production Organisation Approval) from LBA
  • EASA Part 145 (Maintenance Organisation Approval) from LBA

With the certifications, TQ now offers customers the possibility to realize ideas and requirements in a complete package according to aviation standards. This reduces the overall effort and time that is usually required for non-value-adding processes such as logistics, testing, certification and monitoring.

"Digitalization also drives the requirements in aviation and thus leads to current changes in the requirements of the installed infrastructure. Balancing between using existing solutions in consumer and industrial electronics on one side and the high safety requirements of aviation on the other is definitely a challenge," says Patrick Schrot, head of the Aircraft Electronics business unit at TQ.

"With its broad spectrum of experience in the development and production of electronic solutions and the now completed aviation approvals, TQ offers the ideal conditions for efficiently solving this balancing act together with its customers," continues Schrot.
