TQ and Franka Emika expand cooperation
The technology company TQ and Franka Emika, the visionary developer of mass-marketable lightweight robots, announce at the Hannover Messe 2019 the expansion of their cooperation in the production and sale of collaborative robots - so-called Cobots - as well as complete industrial solutions.
At its location in Durach in the Allgäu region of Germany, TQ has been the "Cobot-Manufacturer" for some time now, assembling the Cobot, the world's fastest selling industrial robot system.
In the now announced extended cooperation of both companies, TQ and its new business division TQ Franka Solution Center (TQ-FSC) will act as official and certified reseller, solution and training partner for the Franka Emika Robot. The TQ-FSC offers robotics solutions consisting of robots, suitable hardware peripherals, software and applications, consulting and training from a single source.

The Solution Packages developed by TQ include:
- An automated screwdriving system in collaboration with Atlas Copco and its MicroTorque screwdrivers.
- The Franka Emika Standard Gripper, which enables numerous pick and place applications. Using 3D printing, gripper surfaces can be created that are specially adapted to the material to be gripped.
- An optical quality control and bin picking system supported by TQ-Embedded solutions such as the MBox.
Cobot by Franka Emika is the collaborative robot for every company: inexpensive, easy to set up and manufactured in Germany. It learns repetitive tasks easily and can perform them agilely, flexibly and quickly. As an intelligent tool, the Cobot supports the automation of frequently occurring but mostly monotonous tasks. Thus, costs can be significantly reduced, while employees get more time for more demanding tasks at the same time.
